The work of Boa Mistura, using a very clever perspective typography style to brighten up some of the most poor suburbs of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

I think these look brilliant, I also like how they have got the underprivileged children in these areas involved.

My final three monthly poster designs for the Ministry of Sound, using my own camo design mirrored and repeated to create a more detailed almost hypnotic pattern.  I would have preferred to use my own colour pallet rather than the one provided in the the brief.  Despite this I still think the designs are effective and eye catching.
I created the first small sections of the camo design on illustrator, the repeating was done on photoshop to create the background.  The logo itself hasn't been changed but splatters where added around it using illustrator again.  The text was created and edited on illustrator too.  Then all these parts were put together on indesign.
The posters should have been more typography based, but as this is the first typography styled brief I have ever had to work with I think I've done a good job.

Just a couple of my favourites from everypeople.com top 12 from 2011, the Nike hurache free and Puma suede, made from nets to create 3D pieces of art in themselves.  These a Quiet similar to the Duck Book Wolf of Sicksystem.  I think these look very interesting, and put a different more interesting slant on what would ordinarily just been a top 12 shoes of the year.

Camo.

Some of my own custom camo design, in just a couple of the colour ways I looked at.

Starting on the ministry of sound typography project, I starteda looking at custom camo pattern work, such as used by Bape, A Bathing Ape.  I chose to look at patterns rather than bold imagery so that it didn't take away from the importance of the type.

Oliver Barret

When given a typography based brief I looked at the work of Oliver Barret, I like the style of his illustration I think it looks hand drawn with hints of using digital enhancements to improve the colour of the images, he also adds other small images to the larger picture to give them a different feel, in the case of the Steve Jobs image he has added illustrations of some of the products he has created, they are very subtle, they do not take away from the main image itself, but they do make you have a closer look.

With typography it seems to be quite boldly just layered over the top of his illustrations sometimes almost obscuring the image below.  I think these look very interesting and again make you look a little harder at the image, which really is what any artist whats you to do with their work.
