I really like this image I received in an email a month or so ago, I think it really shows the importance of colour ways and how it can almost be the complete base of a brand, for instance in this example Lacoste have created an entire new range and campaign around 12 new colour ways of the same garment, they have taken their classic polo which then know sells extremely well and all they have done its released it in 12 new colours and this is enough to know it will sell.
I find this quite amazing that a brand does not even need to design anything new or alter anything that already exists other than the colour itself.
