Norse Projects

Norse Projects started in 2004 and based in Nörreport, Copenhangen in Denmark.  As a store specialising in fashionable wearable workwear with high end prices compared to basic workwear.  They sold brands such as A.P.C, Acne and Folk as well other more unknown brands from Scandinavia.  It was only in 2009 that Norse Projects began to release their own clothing, their first staples were there high quality 5 panel caps and distinguished printed tee's, as well as durable well made anoraks.  From this point the brand has exploded all over Europe.  The Brand is prided on high quality garments, with a simplistic recognisable look, making the items highly desired and priced accordingly.

The brand very quickly began to work with big names within the industry such as Elka, Hestra, New balance and ProKeds.  As well as store and artist collaborations.

These are just a couple of screen shots I've taken from their website, store and blog.  I really like how clean and easy to use they are.  I think they look very professionally, and modern without being flashy. They compliment the brand and what the brand is all about.

A real staple of Norse Projects as a brand is there range of 5 panel caps both plain and patterned.  Both made to a very high standard which the brand pride themselves upon,  the plainer of the caps are usually made from interesting fabrics just and burlap and tweed knits and sometimes even woolen blends, showing the brands history and heritage.
Where as the patterned caps use sometimes quite organic pattern work such as floral designs or their very well known corn flower pant design.  There also fairisile patterned caps show where the brand is from and these link with over pieces in their collections.

Their Spring/Summer packages are just as easily identifiable, with prime tailored work shorts, basic blend Niels tees and more seasonal pattern wear.  Such as their iconic cornflower print shirts and much sort after printed caps, along with light weight summer anoraks and windbreaker style jackets.

Norse Projects designs are clearly influenced by their Scandinavian heritage, through their Autumn/Winter ranges warmth and functionality of thick knits, heavy lined jackets and coats, as well as their notable team up with Hestra with their heavy duty wool lined gloves.  Their knitwear really shows where they've came from with strong patterns, from striped ribbing and block colours to bold custom fairisile designs.

I personally like the brand for many aspects, from their simplistic clothing designs to their advertising and photo shoots.  They may not plaster their products with logos and their name, but still each piece is identifiable as their own.  Small subtle branding, giving an understated quality and exclusivity to the products.  Norse Projects has grown very quickly since 2009, branching into all avenues of clothing and textiles, it is only a matter of time before they became a lifestyle brand branching out into home wear.  With their already growing popularity it would surely be a success.
